Shout Out to my Mama

Hello everyone. Jon here.

First of all, just want to say to Grandma and Grandpa Ollmann and Auntie Hailee that we are thinking about you right now. I know that it is tough, but you all have hearts of gold and god really will help you through this. There is a child out there waiting for you in Uralsk and you will find her, don't worry, be happy. (Yes, I did just sing the song in my head in case you were wondering.)

OK, mister Hayden is doing great. Three of his canine teeth are coming in right now, so when they finally do he will have fangs. Come to think of it, if we can teach him how to hiss, his mouth looks like a snake. Instead of the hiss, he is starting to shriek which we hope is just because of the teething and is only temporary.

Yesterday, when Amanda was in Portland visiting Grandma Melissa she fed tried sweet potatoes, he likes them. He also spent the entire day at high school while Amanda doing observations.

Other than that, not much is new. Really, really busy with work lately. The training is going great and I wrote a petition to the state of Washington to see if they will allow me to count more then 40 hours a week.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Love and miss you all!!
Jon, Amanda and Hayden

Good talking with you - we will try again in a couple of days and hope that the connection is better. Maybe Hayden will be up and we will be able to hear him scream. You know it just might be his new way of communication!

Keep those posts coming -- we love hearing what he's doing (and you guys too, of course).

Hi Jon & Amanda-
Ok for teething what we did for Brooklynn was pull our hair out! ha ha j/k. Really to be honest there isn't much you can do. She was EXTREAMLY fussy and wouldn't take naps or sleep through the night. We would give her baby motrin at night before bed if she was bad ( I like motrin better than tylenol it lasts 6-8 hours) But make sure Hayden has a full belly before he gets it otherwise it can give a tummy ache. We also used the baby oral gel, natural teething tablets, and tylenol. I got her some teethers that I could stick in the fridge. I would also fold a wash cloth in fours and wet one corner and stick it in the freezer - she really liked chewing on that. Brooklynn loved chewing on a plastic water bottle. So I washed one and would fill it with cold water she would hold it and chomp on the bottom. Hope those ideas help some what. Good luck! And PS watch out when those teeth come in they tend to bite when nursing! OUCH! I have been bite 4 times already and three of them were on sunday - I am still in pain!
